YogaLOVE is the practice of 108 Sun Salutations—sometimes called, the “half-marathon” of yoga. Bring your yoga mat and get ready for some yoga for a good cause. Make sure to bring you friend so we can have over 200 yogis take part in this special event and raise $15,000.

This event supports Street Yoga’s youth programs, helping us bring the healing benefits of yoga to marginalized youth.

About Street Yoga: Research shows that yoga and mindfulness have physical, mental and emotional benefits for individuals, interpersonal benefits as we increase discipline and self control, and now research suggests that yoga and mindfulness practice can influence systems as well. Niroga Institute has done excellent work in showing the connection between yoga and mindfulness to self-control, which is correlated to academic success. Excelling in school means jobs, possibly college, pushes back the age of first pregnancy and decreases the likelihood of going to prison.

Yoga and mindfulness classes for marginalized young people can change the future of our communities, and Street Yoga provides these classes! All of our youth have experienced trauma, and many have been homeless, struggle with chemical dependency, and/or experience mental illness. The youth we serve wouldn’t have access to yoga classes without Street Yoga programming.

$108 provides yoga classes for up to 120 young people for one month– talk about a great way to spend a Saturday morning!
